For many years, the City of Plattsburgh has been home to the largest professional bass fishing tournaments in the world. In the last three years, there have been world-record weights when it comes to the catch. Lake Champlain is known across the globe as the number one location for bass fishing.
Held at the Clinton County Fair Ground, this funky annual festival is held every year in August. The music festival offers a wide variety of bands to enjoy. Spectators can buy a daily admission pass or can camp out for the weekend for a fee. Some bands to see this year are The Gibson Brothers, Dave Nichols & Spare Change, and Smokey Greene.
Beer, hard cider, spirits, wine, food, and music galore! Visit over 40 vendors and enjoy tasting some unique beverages at the annual Plattsburgh Brewfest in August at the Clinton County Fair Grounds. Plattsburgh Half Marathon
Held annually in the city of Plattsburgh, this marathon is an exciting event for all ages. Cheer and watch the runners pass the finish line! There is a post-party that non-runners can attend for $5, which includes food, drinks, an auction, and admission. All proceeds go to Team Fox for Parkinson's Research.
Mayor's Cup & Regatta
The Mayor's Cup & Regatta is a popular event held every summer on Lake Champlain. It is a four-day celebration that includes the Annual Regatta, Boat Parade of Lights, a post-race BBQ, live music, family activities, and an Awards Ceremony. Later in the evening, there is a colorful display of fireworks that light up in the sky!
Battle of Plattsburgh
See a re-enactment of the War of 1812, browse through numerous displays of artifacts, and educate the entire family about this war that went down in history. There are exhibits, the Allan S. Everest Interpretive Center, a picnic area, and the Press-Republican Theatre.
